This industry sector is on further improving dynamic properties – for example vibration and acceleration behavior – by lighter materials. This is achieved by reducing inertia in combination with higher stiffness and better damping coefficient. Sectors are such as the packaging, machining or textile industry.

Many scientific works in the field of production technology are already about producing cost-efficiently moving and lightweight machine parts, to improve the performance of the plants. Due to the close collaboration with institutes like the Laboratory for Machine Tools and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology, the AZL has access to scientists who understand the special problems and challenges in engineering.
