In power engineering, lightweight structures have two major benefits: It improves the efficiency of the energy-generating machinery and enables new designs such as long wing types in wind turbines. Required material properties are high dynamic load capacity, chemical resistance and longer service life.

By integrating expertise from the fields of plastics engineering, automation and joining at the AZL, new manufacturing processes and process chains can occur. They are required for an economical manufacturing of innovative lightweight products.
